Project focus:

Design a booklet that will be printed in multiple copies and handed out to people in the industry.

The booklet contains a front matter, 53 student pages, infographics, fun pages, professors’ advice pages, and back matter.

What is Senior Showcase?

Drexel University Graphic Design Program holds the Seniors Showcase every year during graduation week. Seniors showcase their creative work to family, friends, industry professionals, and the Drexel community.

The 2022 Graphic Design Senior Showcase Exhibit & Website offers viewers the opportunity to see stunning work and meet our newly-minted designers. Graphic Design seniors will exhibit projects that showcase their versatility and talent. Highlights include senior capstone projects, book design, packaging, publication design, web design, wayfinding, exhibition design, and motion graphics.

Design approach:

The final project is a 64-page booklet, with color covers and black & white inner pages. Our challenge was to design in black & white but maintain the consistency and tonality of the design assets the Branding Committee established.

Booklet:

We gathered seniors’ doodled portraits and signatures. We sent out surveys and forms for seniors to answer fun questions for our infographics data, fill out short biography and answer questions that can get to know them better. We sent out requests to our professors for their piece of advice.

For the student pages, we went through many rounds of combining and critiquing every member’s ideas, and eventually established a range of interesting layouts to display the student information.

For the infographics page, we selected the most interesting questions to represent the class of 2022. We filtered and designed the information to best fit, combined with members’ ideas and graphic elements from the Branding Committee.
